The only real disadvantages to shopping online for clothing are two-fold: You can’t try them on first, and the shades might be slightly different in real light than what you see on your computer screen.

The first disadvantage can be minimized if you’ve worn a similar item before. Some styles may be of the same size you normally wear, but the design may lend a tighter or looser fit. Your best bet is to try a similar item on in a brick-and-mortar store to gain sizing insight. Then return to the online store for great pricing.

The second disadvantage may not be as easy to overcome. Some clothing items may not be returnable, especially if they are on the electronic clearance rack. Some online retailers have narrow time slots for returns, and some even declare if the item has been worn, you cannot return it. However, knowing before purchase any restrictions or qualifications may not eliminate the disadvantage but can minimize it.

Colour tints can look different on a screen than in natural light because computer screens have varying colour quality. If you like the shade when you receive it, the problem is solved. If you don’t like it or it doesn’t quite match that sweater you have, don’t wear the item but return it immediately.

Family or close friends of the bride, especially those participating in the ceremony as apart of the wedding, may want to purchase a gift for the bride following the “something blue” tradition. This can provide you with some inspiration as for what to purchase, but be aware that the tradition often specifies who the gift should be from. You must also consider the location of your wedding and what time of day the ceremony will take place. If your wedding will take place on a beach, a very formal gown would obviously be the wrong choice.  You can narrow down the right dress once you have decided whether you are having a formal wedding or one that is semi-formal. 

Once this big decision is made you can then go on to choosing what type of entertainment you will have.  Do you want a band who plays all your old favorites or perhaps jazz quartets are more your style.  Which ever you choose, the right music makes all the difference so weigh your options and choose the music that best matches and compliments your wedding day theme or style. 

Oftentimes people will think of false eyelashes and immediately dismiss them as being too superficial and uncommon for their own use. In all reality, eyelashes are not anything to be afraid of. People use them all the time!

As you may be aware, the Breast Cancer Campaign uses a Pink Ribbon as its symbol, and this theme is carried through to the Damart fundraising range. So what are the main considerations when choosing your all-important dress? First and foremost, you want to try, if possible, to avoid every woman’s worst nightmare: turning up in the same dress as someone else – or even worse, turning up in the same dress as SEVERAL other people! How embarrassing, but of course it does happen. If you’re worried about this it’s probably best to avoid the main high street stores.

If you’re lucky you might stumble upon a gorgeous vintage number in your own size for a bargain price, and you can be pretty confident nobody will have the same dress. If you are creative you could reinvent an existing or plain dress with accessories and finishing touches from a haberdashery store. Another option is asking a friend or relative of the same size if they have any evening dresses you could borrow. Particularly if it’s something from some years ago but well looked-after, you might find it’s now back in fashion but different enough that nobody is going to have the same dress.

A final option that not everyone considers is hiring a dress for the evening. Many independent shops offer evening dresses for hire at prices between around £50-£100 for dresses worth in the thousands, often unique and with handmade touches. This is a great way to look stunning in a dress you might never buy because of the cost, just for one special night.
